Image editing tools

Edit images like a professional

For website admins that don’t know how to use or don’t have Photoshop, it’s really hard to get image size & image effects completed without having to pay someone.  I’ve been on a mission to find some tools for website admins that will help them resize & edit their images. This is what I’ve found. And it’s a pretty impressive bunch of finds. Some free and some with paid upgrades.

Editors

Befunky

This one is one of my favorites. Their website claims the following “BeFunky makes photo editing easy. With our world famous photo editor, you can turn photos you like into photos you love!
Tell a story, share an adventure, design a cart for a friend… whatever you want to create, our collage maker is here for you.
Don’t know Photoshop? Now you don’t need to. With our Designer Toolset, it’s easy to make fully customized graphic designs.”

Canva Photo Editor

Another brilliant way to edit your photos for your website. This is what their website says about them “Easily create beautiful designs + documents. Use Canva’s drag-and-drop feature and professional layouts to design consistently stunning graphics… Design presentations, social media graphics, & more with thousands of beautiful layouts.”

PicMonkey

They say “Everything you need to make your ideas come to life—photo editing, collage making, graphic design PicMonkey’s got it. It’s never been easier to feed your creative beast.”

Snapseed

Um, wow. This tool is really quite something else. Go try it.. on your phone! CLEVER!

Resizers

Picresize – http://www.picresize.com/ – I’m not sure how good this is. But it seems to work if you simply want to resize a large image.

ResizeImage.net – http://resizeimage.net/ – Again, this seems to do it’s job. It’s not fancy, but it works.

Professional

I use Adobe products for photo editing & graphic design. If you’ve found Photoshop overwhelming perhaps try this out: There is a smaller version of Photoshop you can get called Lightroom.

There is always GIMP. Gimp is an outstanding product and best of all it’s FREE! It’s open source & almost as good as Photoshop.

Inkscape – is a vector graphics editor. It’s also great, free & open source.
